 1.       HOW CAN I KNOW GOD EXISTS?

Some say that they don’t believe that God exits, but how can anyone prove the non-existence of something that doesn’t exist in the first place. Therefore based on the below and many other things, there is much more evidence for the existence of God than for His “non-existence”.

Others say that God is unknowable and therefore we can’t know if God exists. But how does one claim to know something of that which is declared to be unknowable. For to say that God’s existence can’t be known presumes certain knowledge about Him, which is unknowable according to the agnostic and is therefore a contradiction.

There is much evidence for the existence of God.

a) Through Nature.

“For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

Romans 1:20

b) Through mankind’s nature.

The complex and purposeful design of human beings reveals an intelligent designer. All humans sense God’s reality and are made in His image having characteristics such as righteousness, holiness, knowledge, creativity and the desire for the execution of justice and judgment.

c) Man has a conscience.

“If our conscience condemns us, we know that God is greater than our conscience and that He knows everything. If our conscience doesn’t condemn us, we have courage in God’s prescence.”

1 John 3:21

“When people who do not have the Law, do by nature things required by the Law, they are a Law for themselves, eventhough they do not have the Law, since they show that the requirements of the Law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.”

Romans 2:14-15

d) Man has the ability to reason.

That is the ability to think in order to draw conclusions.

Rational thought is not a part of the system of nature. It is independant of nature. Just as understanding how a machine works is connected to the machine, it is not connected in the same way the parts of the machine are connected with each other. Therefore something beyond nature operates whenever we reason.

Every object you see around you now, …the cars, the walls, the ceiling, the roof etc…., all these things bear witness that reasoning colonizes nature, because if nature had her way, none of these things would be here.

Therefore the ability to reason causes us to know the truth about God.

e) Through the Word of God.

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Genesis 1:1.   God’s existence and active prescence in human history are evident throughout the whole Bible.

f) Through the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to earth to reveal to us who God is.

“The Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us.” John 1:14

g) Through logical arguments of philosophy.

The existence of God is the only answer to questions like

-How did the universe originate?

-How can the universe be complex and yet ordered?

-Everything that begins has a cause.

-Why does every culture sense right and wrong and expect justice to be upheld?

2.    WHY IS JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY PATH TO GOD?

Jesus said “I am the way , the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father (God) but through me.”  John 14: 6.

“For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins”. John 8:24

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”  (Acts 4:12)

a) He is the Only One who died for you.

Jesus is the only one who in His great Love died for your sins so that you could be forgiven and reconciled back to God. No other religious leader died for you. Not Muhammed, not Buddha, not Confucious, no-one else.

b) Jesus is the only one alive.

Concerning eternal matters, Jesus is the only one alive. He is unique because He came back from the dead. All other religious leaders, even the saints and the Virgin Mary died, but didn’t rise from the dead. So if you were in a situation were you were lost somewhere in the middle of the forest trying to find your way out and suddenly you saw two guides before you who would show you out, the only difference between them was one was alive but the other was dead, who would you go to about your confusion and fear? The living man or the dead man?

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be. The Unique Son of God.

c) Jesus was sinless.

Jesus was without sin. No other person ever born was without sin.

d) Jesus exercised authority.

His teachings centered on Himself because He was God in the flesh and had authority. Other religious teachers pointed away from themselves and towards God.

e) The promise of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus doesn’t leave his followers as orphans but sends the Holy Spirit to them who teaches them all truth, and empowers them to live a righteous life. All other religious leaders were unable to promise their followers that they would never leave them or forsake them. They left them orphans telling them they had to be their own light and leaving them subject to trying to fulfill the demands of righteousness in the flesh.

f) Jesus saves by grace not works.

Only through Jesus Christ is salvation of mankind given by grace. That is as an undeserved gift from the Love of God. Without this grace our salvation would depend on works (which is the endeavor of all religions), which is impossible since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Some may think this is being arrogant or narrow minded, and that all religions are equally safe paths to God. But when one says that “all religions lead to God”, isn’t this also making an exclusive truth claim. Thus the hypocrisy of its own intolerance is exposed in its hostility towards those who claim exclusive truth.

3.    WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”. John 3:16

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus”. Romans 3: 23-24

An illustration is given.

There were two good friends who grew up together. As time passed by they went their separate ways. One became a judge, the other became a criminal.

One day the criminal appeared in court for a crime to which he had to plead guilty and it so happened that his childhood friend appeared before him as the judge. The judge was in a dilemma because he loved his friend, but at the same time as a judge he had to execute justice. He couldn’t impose a penalty on his friend either for that wouldn’t display Love. So the judge fined him about 10.000 dollars, then removed his gown, stepped down from his bench and wrote a check for that amount and gave it to his friend as a free and undeserved gift. Now the guilty man can choose whether to receive that free and undeserved gift or whether to reject it and be condemned.

There was once a time when God was our friend. But this friendship was broken because of sin. That is man violated God’s law which prevented him from walking in the fullness of life that God intended for man. God however in His Love for mankind promised to make things right again by sending a Savior into the world. So God Himself “stepped down”, removed His robe and became a man, and in His infinite Love paid the price for our sins on the cross. In this way God’s love was released and His justice satisfied. This achieved forgiveness, freedom and reconciliation  back to God.

Now it is up to us whether we receive that free gift and be set free or reject it and be eternally condemned.

Man has two great spiritual needs that have come from our separation with God. One is for forgiveness and the other is for goodness. Consciously or unconsciously man’s inner being longs for both of them and cries out for them even though in his restlessness, confusion, loneliness, fear and pressure, he may not know what he is crying out for. God heard both these cries in man and answered them on the cross.

No science, no technology, no economic restructuring, no self improvement or wishful thinking can change the basic nature of man that has resulted from his separation from God. Only the work of the cross.

4.    I’M A GOOD PERSON, I DO GOOD DEEDS,I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING SERIOUSLY WRONG AND GOD WILL ACCEPT ME IF I HAVE LIVED A GOOD LIFE.

Many people think that if they have lived a good life, that if their good deeds outweigh their bad deeds, or if they haven’t done anything seriously wrong , then they have earned Heaven. However the Bible clearly tells us that no-one can earn their way to Heaven in this way because the Gospels tell us that good deeds have nothing to do with entering into a right relationship with God. This relationship can’t be earned by us because God has done everything for us.

If we could earn our way to Heaven just by being good, then there would have been no need for Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross.

The Bible says ” Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us”.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.

If we could earn our eternal salvation on the basis of good works, then God would be our debtor. He would owe us something. But the Bible tells us that God owes us nothing and that all our righteous acts are like filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6)

The reason is simple. God has a perfect standard. Jesus Christ. Since all of us have sinned in one way or the other, we all fall short of this mark. We people like to compare ourselves with others, and by doing this we don’t feel so bad after all.  But God doesn’t compare us to others, He compares us to Jesus Christ, and next to Him we all fall short.  All of us without any exceptions.

An illustration is given to make this more understandable.

The island of Symi is situated approximately 40 km from the island of Rhodes.

Three men are standing on the edge of Rhodes pier. One of the men is an outcast who is living on the streets. The 2nd man is the average Greek, and the 3rd man is a very moral, successful and fine man that soceity respects.

Suddenly the outcast jumps into the water from the edge of the pier reaching out 1.5 meters into the water. The other two shout at him asking “What are you trying to do”? The outcast in the water answers back “I’m jumping to Symi”.

Then the second man, the average Greek says “Look at me, i can do better than that”. So running back and then jumping into the water he lands 3 meters out into the water. Twice as far out as the outcast.

The 3rd man, being the moral, successful and highly religious person that he is, looks at the other two disdainfully. Running back he takes a running leap into the water and lands 6 meters out into the water. Twice as far as the average Greek and four times further than the outcast.

The coast guard fishes them out of the water and asks the men what they are trying to do, to which they all reply “We are jumping to Symi”, and Mr average boasts of his beating the outcast and Mr Great boasts of his accomplishment in beating both of them.

At this the coast guard officer could only shake his head and tell them “You fools, you are all still 40 km short of your mark”.

Although man considers himself better than or- at least as good as others, he is still far from the target God has set for him. Just as it is impossible for anyone to jump from the island of Rhodes to the island of Symi, so it is impossible to for anyone to reach Heaven by his own good deeds and apart from Jesus Christ.

As Jesus Himself said

“No one comes to the Father except through me”. (John 14:6)

5.    I’M A SINCERE RELIGIOUS PERSON AND THAT WILL ENSURE MY SALVATION.

In the Gospel of John we have an interview between Jesus and a very influential leader named Nicodemus. Nicodemus was wealthy and a member of the Sanhedrin, the ruling council of the Jewish nation. He probably fasted several times a week, spent time each day praying in the temple, tithed his income and was apparently a noted religious leader. He would of been considered a good Christian in some circles today, in fact far better than many of us.

But Jesus said that all Nicodemus’ goodness wasn’t enough. Instead Jesus told him “You must be born again”. Jesus went on to explain this new birth- this spiritual regeneration which is accomplished only by The Holy Spirit.

“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”  (John 3:8)

There is something mysterious about this. We cannot fully understand how the new birth comes to us. It is from above, not from the earth or from within our human nature. It comes because of the Love and Grace of God.  It comes because of the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It comes because of the action of the Holy Spirit.

Now one can imagine what a shock it must have been to Nicodemus or to any religious person to learn that religion is not enough. It never is. Nicodemus came to Jesus addressing Him as a teacher come from God. But Jesus knew Nicodemus as He knows all men, and Jesus knew that he needed more than a teacher- he needed a Savior, he needed more than religion, he needed regeneration, he needed more than the Law, he needed life.

Jesus got right to the point and told him “You must be born again”.   Nicodemus asked, “How can a man be born again? Surely he cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time. And here Jesus pointed out the dissimilarity in the two births. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. Jesus knew what lies in the hearts of all men, including the corruption of good intentioned religiosity. The fatal disease in all mankind that causes lying, cheating, hate prejudice, greed and lust. This is called SIN.

For sin is the violation of God’s law that prevents man from functioning in his God intended purpose.

“All of us like sheep have gone astray, each has turned to his own way. Through one man sin entered the world and death through sin and so death spread to all men, because all have sinned.” (Isaiah 53:6)

Thus a radical change is needed in the inner being of every person. This is a change that no person can earn or do of himself. It is a change that science cannot accomplish for man. It is something that only God can and must do.

You see a person can be sincere, but be sincerely deceived or sincerely wrong.

“There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death”. (Proverbs 14:12)

Sincerity isn’t enough if the object of belief is not true. Jesus taught that simply practicing religion doesn’t excuse anyone.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean”.   (Matthew 23:25-26)

“For I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again”. (John 3:3)

6.    WHO HAS GONE TO HEAVEN AND HELL AND COME BACK TO TELL US ABOUT IT?

You may not know anyone personally who has gone to any of these places to come back and tell you, but just because no-one has come back, this doesn’t mean that the afterlife doesn’t exist. Jesus made clear the reality of Heaven and hell when he spoke of the rich man and Lazarus. The details given by Jesus in this story are real.

The time had come for both the rich man and poor Lazarus to die. The rich man was being tormented in hell, and looking up he saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side. It is made clear that a great chasm is fixed between the 2 places so that no-one can cross to the other side.

It is interesting that this is the only parable out of all the other parables in which Jesus gives a specific name to the person in the story. Naming Lazarus suggests that Jesus was speaking of a real man who had that name. If the events in this story didn’t happen, if Jesus only made up the name for the poor man, then why would He choose the name Lazarus – which was also the name of His close friend who He raised from the dead? Using the same name as His friend would of inevitably caused confusion! Two different Lazarus’s who die and live again. One in Paradise, the other on earth, when Jesus could have chosen from hundreds of other names. It seems doubtful he would choose a name that would unnecessarily confuse.

Jesus called the man Lazarus because he was a real man and that was his name. In the story the rich man begs for Lazarus to be sent to his relatives to warn them so that they too do not come to this place of torment. But Abraham replies, they have Moses and the prophets to listen to. But the rich man is convinced that if someone from the dead would just rise and go and warn them then they would repent. Abraham says, if they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets then they won’t be convinced even if someone were to rise from the dead.

Likewise today Jesus has His servants and prophets who go and warn the world of the reality of Heaven and hell. In addition to this, God in his infinate Love and Mercy also gives peole revelations of both Heaven and hell and takes them there to see what it is like so that they can testify to the world. Likewise today, if people don’t listen to the servants and prophets of Jesus Christ, then they too wouldn’t be convinced even if someone were to rise from the dead to tell them.

The problem with some people  is many times they expect the miraculous when all they are doing in the meantime is missing the simplicity of reality.

This generation of people is more accountable than any other generation for the knowledge they have received.

7. WHY DOESN’T GOD JUST DO AWAY WITH EVIL?

If God did away with evil right now, then His action would have to include all our lies, impurities, idolatry, lack of love towards others, failure to do good etc… So how many of us would still be here if God did that right now?

God has dealt with the problem of evil by sending His Son to us. Ultimately in the future God will completely deal with the problem of evil for those who persist in their stubborn refusal to accept His Son. In the meantime God has given us His Son, The Holy Spirit, His Word, Prophecy, His church and much much more.

God gives the world untold opportunities to repent and come to Him, for He isn’t slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Sometimes God allows us to go through painful circumstances because something of deeper value is being worked out in our lives even though we may not understand the reason at the time. Remember our minds are finite whereas God’s ways are infinite and higher. He sees the eternal picture, we many times only see the temporal picture.

8. HOW CAN A LOVING GOD SEND PEOPLE TO HELL?

God is Love which is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ in the world to bear the punishment for sin that should have been ours, so that we wouldn’t have to go to hell.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish (i.e go to hell) but have eternal life”.  John 3:16

God desires everyone to be saved but God is also bound by the free will that He gave to mankind. So those who go to hell are those who do not want to be saved.

God’s Love released His Son to the world to save us, but His justice also demands eternal separation for those that reject His Love. Justice and Love function together. God is only crying out to the world so they will turn from the things that will ultimately cause them harm and will prevent the flow of God’s blessing into their life.

9.    HOW CAN GOD BE BOTH LOVING AND JUST?

God is both unconditionally loving and absolutely just. There is no contradiction. God’s justice demands sin to be punished but His love compels Him to save sinners. A perfect example of God’s justice and love working simultaneously is the work of the cross.

On the cross, the death of Jesus Christ satisfied God’s justice, for Jesus paid the penalty for all mankind’s sin. At the same time it was His love that released Jesus into the world to bear the punishment that was ours, so that we could be saved.

The rejection of that love will again demand God’s perfect justice to be executed resulting in hell for those who reject the love of God. How much more love could God give you than to give His very own life for you. This isn’t difficult to understand. All parents who love their children should understand love and justice working simultaneously.

10. WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO ALL THIS? THE WORST HYPOCRITES ARE IN THE CHURCH!

Jesus said “Do not judge or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others , you will be judged and with the measure you use on others , it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye. How can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck out of your eye, when all the time there is a plank in your own eye. You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Yes there are people who claim to be Christians and who do not walk consistently with what they believe, but aren’t there hypocrites in all other faiths too who do not walk consistently with what their faith teaches? Understand that many times a person’s failings are the result of their ignorance, immaturity or trying to accomplish things in the weakness of the flesh rather than in the power of the Holy Spirit. God alone is judge and will judge every person justly in accordance to the light they have received. To those who much has been given, God will hold more accountable.  People who are quick to pass judgment on other people usually don’t know themselves, for they would understand that the failings of others may also be evident in their own lives only in a different area.

“You who preach not to steal, do you steal?”  Etc etc, what you judge others for is sometimes the very thing you are doing in your own life, just in some other way…

11. WHAT ABOUT THE SAINTS? SHOULD I PRAY TO THEM AND WORSHIP THEM?

The question that needs to be asked here is “How does one become a saint in the first place?” Every true saint of God became a saint because they believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, trusted in Him alone and obeyed the commands and teachings of Christ. Therefore they were acknowledged by God as a saint.

We see Saint Paul in his epistle to the Corinthians rebuking them for the quarrels amongst the people there.

One says ” I follow Paul, another I follow Apollos, another I follow Cephas, still another I follow Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?  Were you baptized into the name of Paul?”

Here Saint Paul himself is stressing the fact that no saint died for you and isn’t to receive the glory that belongs to Jesus Christ alone. Every saint secured their eternal salvation by trusting and obeying Christ. God demands every person to do the same, for God’s criteria is to believe in Jesus Christ and repent. Every true saint would be offended at the worship people give them for if you were to ask them they would say “don’t look to me but Christ. He died for you, I didn’t”.

Consider these verses from the Bible.

Acts 14:8-15  – Here Paul and Barnabas go to Lystra and there Paul heals a man lame from birth. The crowd after witnessing this miracle start saying “the gods have come to us in human form.” and they wanted to offer sacrifices to them. But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made Heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.”

Revelation 22:8-9 – Here after the Apostle John receives the awesome revelations from the angel of God, he says

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, i fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”

The Bible clearly teaches that there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself as a ransom for all men.   1 Timothy 2: 4-6

12. WHO WAS MARY?

Mary was a descendant of King David of Israel. It was prophesied that Jesus Christ the Savior of the world would be a descendant of the House of David. Mary was a righteous woman, blessed and chosen by God to become the earthly mother of Jesus Christ. Even though she was a virgin, she conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. In her joy she glorified the Lord, and she herself acknowledged that she would be blessed in all generations. The sufferings of Jesus brought great sorrow into her life.

The thing that needs to be clearly understood here is that she is in no way worthy of the glory and worship that belongs to Jesus Christ alone. Her purpose was that she was chosen and blessed by God to bring the Savior of the World into the world, but she is not your savior, for she didn’t die for you.

Jesus Christ is your Savior and His purpose is to save you for He alone died for you and paid the price for your sins so that you may be saved.

Jesus was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering.

He took up our infirmities, and carried our sorrows. Yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by Him and afflicted.

He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquties the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep have gone astray each of us has turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.    (Isaiah 53:3-6)

The Lord speaking through the prophet Isaiah clearly tells us   ” I will not yield my glory to another”

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

God is most Holy (absolutely Holy). How then can anyone refer to Mary as being Most Holy, for she is not above God.

The Bible clearly teaches us that there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men. (1 Timothy 2:5)

At the wedding in Cana, when the wine had given out, Mary said to Jesus “They are out of wine.” He replied to her “You must not tell me what to do, my time has not yet come.” (John2:4)

His mother then told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”  So if Jesus’ own mother is telling us to obey Him, isn’t that what we should be doing?

“No-one comes to the Father except through me” Jesus says.

On another occasion someone told Jesus that His mother and brothers were standing outside wanting to speak to him. He replied “Who is my mother and who are my brothers.” Pointing to His disciples He said, “Here are my mother and brothers, for whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

13. GOD IS READY TO FORGIVE THOSE WHO REPENT AND TRUST IN CHRIST

God promises that everyone, without exception who seeks God and desires to be forgiven from their sins will be forgiven.

Here is an illustration:

If you are at the beach, whether you throw a very large stone in the water or whether you throw a very small stone in the water, both will sink. Likewise all people, whether they have committed big sins or small sins will go to hell apart from the forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said “Whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”   (John 6:37)

” It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’  For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners. (Matthew 9:12-13)

HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN?

(How to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior)

1) Realize that in God’s eyes you are a sinner. You may not consider yourself a bad person because you know you have lived a fairly decent life. On the other hand you may be carrying a burden of guilt over some sins committed in the past. Whatever your background, know that the Bible tells us that there is no-one righteous, no, not one. We have all broken God’s Law and all deserve nothing but God’s judgment and wrath (Romans 3:10-18).

2) Realize that God loves you which is why He sent His Son to die for you. You deserve to die for your sins, but Christ in His Love died in your place. “For Christ also died for sins once and for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God”  (1 Peter 3:18)

3) Repent of your sins. This means that you admit that you are a sinner and that you genuinely feel sorry for your sins. It means to change your mind and turn back on your sins, and determine by God’s grace to live as He wants you to live. Jesus’ message was a message of repentance. Jesus said “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”  Repentance means a willingness to leave sin behind and turn your life over to Jesus, and make Him Lord of your life.

4) Simply say:

“Lord I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I believe you died on the cross and rose again to pay for my sins, so that I can be forgiven, and have eternity in heaven.  I repent of my sins, and ask you now to become Lord and Savior of my life, please come into my heart and cleanse me of my sins, and make me born-again through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”

5) Realize that it is impossible to live the life that God wants of you in your own strength which is why God sent us The Holy Spirit. Therefore it is important to ask God to fill you with The Holy Spirit.

Jesus said  “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13)

The following verses show that it is God’s will that we receive the Holy Spirit:

“I baptize you with water for repentance (John the baptist). But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He (Jesus Christ) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matthew 3:11)

Peter replied “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off – for all whom the Lord will call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

6) Pray:

“Heavenly Father I realize that I need The Holy Spirit. Please fill me with Your Presence and baptize me with The Holy Spirit in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Now that you have given the Holy Spirit control over your life in order to lead you, guide you, strengthen you, walk by faith realizing yourself dead to sin and alive to Christ, your Lord and Savior. Accept by faith that you are now a new creation in Christ.

  • Study Gods Holy Word – Everything you need to know about God, His promises and His purpose for your life are in the Bible. Your faith in God and all God’s great promises available to you are dependent upon you knowing about them. If you don’t know the Word of Truth, then you won’t be able to accurately handle the Word of Truth. Begin by reading the Gospels so that you can know Jesus more.
  • Pray every day -It is important to spend time in prayer everyday because when you pray you communicate with God. Communication is the key to all relationships. Without communication, there is no hope for any kind of meaningful relationship. By praying to God you communicate to Him your desires, emotions, fears etc and thus you allow God to speak to you to show you what to do. Prayer is important so that you can seek God’s will for your life everyday. Therefore talk to God in prayer everyday.
  • Confess Christ by word of mouthIt is important to tell people about Jesus Christ and what He has done for you. It is your responsibility to help spread the Gospel of Christ because the people of the world are dying and going to Hell. Love will release you to want to save people.  The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30)
  • Do not forsake the fellowship with believers – It is important to find and regularly attend a good church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.  By assembling with other Christians, you gain strength. Also great blessing comes as God’s people come together in worship, praising and singing to the Lord. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people. Fellowship with those who are truly obedient to the Lord (Born-again believers), and believe in the full power of God (miracles, prophecy etc).

Note: If you live in a country or area with few alive churches, you need to fellowship with the Lord often, and seek God for more strength, wisdom and power.

God bless you.
